While we have no confirmed information yet, the iPad Pro 2022 is widely expected to feature a variety of upgrades and improvements. We can expect a Glass back and wireless charging. The 2022 model may not feature a Mini-LED screen upgrade. Also, there is speculation that Apple will add a notch to the device, which has been seen on the iPhone 13 and MacBook Pro 2021.
Glass back for wireless charging
Rumors are rife that Apple is working on an all-glass iPad Pro 2022. The glass back may be used for the Apple logo but the rest of the tablet’s body will be made of aluminum. The glass back would allow wireless charging through a magnet on the device’s side, but insiders say the glass back will make the tablet’s body flimsier and more likely to break.
Despite rumors to the contrary, Apple is still planning to introduce a new iPad Pro next year. The company has already begun testing the MagSafe charger for its iPhone 12. The new iPad will feature an array of magnets around the charging coils to snap into the device’s magnetic case. Although wireless charging would take longer than a regular corded charger, Apple plans to make the new iPad Pro compatible with the MagSafe connector.
Mini-LED screen upgrade not included in 2022 model
Apple has said that the iPad Pro 11 will get a Mini-LED screen upgrade, but it will not be included in the larger 12.9-inch model. The mini-LED screen upgrade was used only for the 12.9-inch model in 2021. However, it is possible that Apple will include this feature in the next model, but Kuo is not sure. Rather, he believes that the company will introduce new MacBook Pro models later this year and a smaller version of the MacBook Air next year.
According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the mini-LED screen upgrade is not included in the upcoming Ipad Pro model. This is due to cost concerns, he said in a tweet. Kuo also explained that Apple will not launch new mini-LED products in 2022 but will continue to release the existing ones. Kuo also pointed out that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will retain the mini-LED screen upgrade, but it is not expected to be included in the 2022 model.
LCD panel
Apple’s next 11-inch iPad Pro is expected to feature a mini-LED backlit LCD display, which is an upgrade from the LCD panel that is currently used on the current model. The new iPad Pro will be introduced in October. The iPad Pro 2022 is expected to feature an improved design, but the LCD panel will likely continue to be used. Apple is likely to hold back the switch to OLEDs for the next model, due to performance concerns.
If that’s the case, the LCD panel in the 2022 iPad Pro will not have any changes at all. While mini-LED technology was expected to make its way to the 11-inch iPad Pro in 2022, it is still too expensive for the company to use. Instead, Apple will stick to the LCD panel. A few other changes are likely to take place, but you won’t notice them.
