Tom Trbojevic managed to bring some sunlight to a gloomy Sunday afternoon at Brookvale Oval, thanking "football whisperer" Joe Wehbe for helping him secure a spectacular 20-point over the Dragons.
In an ideal final hit-out before his return to the State of Origin arena in Perth next Sunday, Trbojevic scored a long-range try to seal victory for Manly, who rise to sixth on the NRL ladder.

He credited the advice of Wehbe, also a property developer, who has been known to mentor some of the game's most elite players.
"I've been seeing a lot of him lately," he said. "He helps me just be me, and play footy freely."

After suffering a serious hamstring injury in round four that kept him out of Origin I, Trbojevic described his first game back last week as “hesitant”.
There were no such issues for the star fullback on Sunday and, as expected, he was selected by the NSW to play centre at Optus Stadium next Sunday.
"It was a really massive honour for myself playing in that blue jersey last year," Trbojevic said.
"I think last week I obviously didnt have my best game. I wasnt attacking the footy like a fullback should be and I was making a few errors which I shouldnt be making. So it was good to get out there today and just play my role in the team."
His efforts were helped along by a side keen to right the wrong that occurred last time when meeting the Dragons. A controversial call at WIN Stadium in round six meant Manly were not awarded a deserved penalty, missing out on a golden point opportunity in a 12-10 defeat.
