Dana White and the UFC have denied Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz will fight for a new belt at UFC 230 in November.
The lightweight contenders announced on their Twitters they would clash for the 165 pound strap, which would launch a new division in the UFC.

A 165lbs title fight would surely headline UFC 230 at Madison Square Garden, which currently has no main event.

Poirier and Diaz are already scheduled to fight at UFC 230, but it seems the pair are pushing for their lightweight showdown to get a serious upgrade.
But the UFC have denied a 165lb title fight is in the works and White rubbished Poiriers and Diazs claims on Wednesday.
White insisted he was still working on booking the main event for UFC 230, with some reports claiming the UFC president was considering adding an interim title fight to top the card.
The UFC have struggled to add a main event to UFC 230, with scheduling and injuries ruling all of the current champions out of action.
Tyron Woodley and Daniel Cormier are injured while several other champions are booked on other dates or unable to fight until 2019.
It was rumoured the returning Jon Jones might headline UFC 230 in his hometown, but White has already shot down that suggestion.
Jones is free to fight again in October after accepting a 30-month suspension which was reduced to 15 months when the fighter agreed to provide credible substantial assistance to Usada in other doping investigations.
