Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has reminded Ryan Sessegnon of the benefits of staying with the Cottagers amid intense transfer speculation around the teenager.
The left-sided player is being strongly linked with a move to the Premier League, with Manchester United and Tottenham among those understood to be interested. Reports today suggest Southampton could join that pool of clubs.
Last summer, Sessegnon signed a professional contract with Fulham, signalling he valued regular football in the Championship over a lucrative move but fewer guarantees of game time in the Premier League.

Jokanovic hopes that remains Sessegnon’s thought process.
‘It’s nice for him [to be linked with big clubs] and for the club too. And if you want to say, it’s nice for myself, I must be satisfied because big clubs are interested in our player.
‘I wish he is going to stay with me, but it’s not in my control. I believe he’s a clever man, believe the people around him are clever enough, he’s played more than 50 games, he’s 17, I know in the past in the last summer there’s been interest around him but he took the decision to stay with us, a fantastic decision in my opinion!’
Jokanovic added: ‘At the end of the day he’s only 17, he’s got time, there’s 18, or 19, 20 or 21 that could be better for him to be playing some of the biggest clubs.
‘The future for this kid is bright, I don’t know when some news will happen. Right now this kid plays so well, I can’t control this situation.
‘We believe he’s going to be an important player in this country and in the future for the English national team.’

Sessegnon has been playing at left full-back and on the left of a front three this season, scoring five goals and claiming three assists in 24 appearances.
