Every county in California is gun-controlled but that has not prevented someone from randomly shooting cars that are being driven in Fresno and Madera counties.

Four shootings in total have been reported since November 27.

According to the Fresno Bee, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office detailed the four shootings:

▪ On Nov. 27 at 6:45 a.m., a vehicle traveling on Madera Avenue at Avenue 8 1/2 was struck by bullets. No one was injured.

▪ On Dec. 1, a vehicle traveling on North Dickenson Avenue near West Shields Avenue at 4:30 p.m. was hit by bullets. The female driver was struck and later treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

▪ Three days later a motorist was driving on Madera Avenue near West Barstow Avenue at 4:30 p.m. when the vehicle was hit by bullets. No injuries occurred.

▪ On Dec. 7 a vehicle driving at 6:45 a.m. on Madera Avenue near Avenue 6 was hit by gunfire. Again, no injuries resulted.

In each instance the victims reported hearing gun shots as they were passed by a vehicle moving in the other direction. But none of the victims have yet been able to provide a clear description of the gunman or gunmen.

Fresno County Sheriff’s spokesman Toni Botti said, “We encourage all drivers to pay attention to their surroundings wherever they are and immediately report dangerous situations, including possible gunfire on the roadways.”

California has a 10-day waiting period for gun purchases, requires all guns to be registered with the state, and even has gun confiscation laws on the books. Moreover, they have an “assault weapons” ban, universal background checks, and require would-be gun owners to acquire a certificate from the state showing they are allowed to own a gun. The state also has a “good cause” requirement for concealed carry permits, which allows bureaucrats to maintain a tight hold on who is allowed to get one. Yet despite these and numerous other controls, the nation witnessed an April 18 firearm-based attack in downtown Fresno that took the lives of three innocents.

Prior to the downtown Fresno attack the nation was shocked by an October 8, 2016, ambush of two Palm Springs police officers. They were allegedly shot to death by a suspect who was found in possession of an AR-15 “with a scratched off serial number.”

On December 2, 2015, the nation was again grief stricken by news that 14 innocents were shot to death in a gun-free county building in San Bernardino. Evidence in the post-San Bernardino investigation revealed the gunman and gunwoman had been planning their attack for approximately a year. California’s gun control was impotent to stop them.
