England may risk playing Jason Roy and Jofra Archer in the crucial World Cup clash against India on Sunday despite their injury concerns.
Roy suffered a hamstring strain during Englands routine win over West Indies earlier in the month and has missed the last three matches, two of which have ended in defeat for Eoin Morgans side.
Archer has featured in all seven of Englands World Cup matches to date – taking 16 wickets in the process – but is nursing a side problem and would ideally be rested against India.
But England find themselves in a position where they may have to win both of their remaining games to progress to the semi-finals of the World Cup and Morgan has admitted the hosts could be forced into playing Roy and Archer.

Asked to rate Roys chances of facing India at Edgbaston, Morgan said: Jason is preparing to play tomorrow. Providing he gets through to todays practice and tomorrow morning unscathed, we think that he might be fit to play.

I depends on the significance of the risk. If it was going to rule him out long term, absolutely not. If it was going to rule him out for a couple of weeks, yes.
On Archers condition, Morgan said: He didnt [bowl during training yesterday]. Were going to see how he comes through today.
Its the same thing hes been playing with the last three games. So well see how he comes through today. The exact same rule applies. If its going to rule him out long term, no. If its going to be short term, yes.
With Pakistan continuing to pile the pressure on England, Morgans side may need four points from their next two games to qualify for the knockout stages.

But Morgan does not want his side to consider the India clash as must-win, adding in his pre-match press conference: Its not worth thinking about at the moment.
