"Never in doubt, was it?" Essendon coach John Worsfold mused with a wry smile as he sat down to his post-match press conference after the Bombers came from 19 points down in the last quarter to stun GWS by a goal at Marvel Stadium.
With a 6-7 record and with their finals chances diminished by a tough loss to West Coast, Worsfold's future at the club had been a hot topic leading into Thursday night's clash with the Giants.
Worsfold will never know what his week would have looked like if Cale Hooker hadn't booted the match-winner in the 12.5 (77) to 10.11 (71) victory with 19 seconds left.

But even if Hooker had missed, the veteran coach didn't sound like he would have noticed, certainly not cared, if the jungle drums had started to beat more loudly for his removal.
"It was a week of constant focus for us," Worsfold said about his side's preparation for round 15.

"There's nothing difficult about being absolutely clear about what you're working on and what you want to do to get better.
"The noise outside after what happened last week was disappointing for us but our focus is on committing to what we want to do together.
"We'll continue to do that, it doesn't mean we'll get it perfect every week and there will be some frustration along the way, but we'll start to see that it becomes a lot more consistent and it will happen fairly quickly.
"But it will only happen if we stay committed to it."
