Serena Williams has accused anti-doping regulators of discrimination after again complaining over the number of occasions she is drug tested.

The 23-time grand slam singles champion took to Twitter to take drug officials to task after being submitted to a random test on Wednesday.

A report published earlier this year claimed that Williams, 36, had been tested five times by June 2018 – more than any other American athlete.

And its that time of the day to get “randomly” drug tested and only test Serena, she wrote on Twitter.

…and its that time of the day to get “randomly” drug tested and only test Serena. Out of all the players its been proven Im the one getting tested the most. Discrimination? I think so. At least Ill be keeping the sport clean #StayPositive

The former world number one added: But Im ready to do whatever it takes to have a clean sport so bring it on. Im excited.

Reacting to the report which also documented an unscheduled visit from a tester at her Florida home, Williams said it was unfortunate that she was being targeted by anti-doping officials.

The United States Anti-Doping Agency do have a policy of testing top athletes out of competition.

Williams reached the Wimbledon final on just her second grand slam appearance since giving birth last September.

She underwent three bouts of surgery in the wake of the birth and played just eight singles matches prior to her run to the SW19 final, where she lost to Angelique Kerber.
