New Liverpool signing Xherdan Shaqiri never turned up when he was needed most at Stoke City, according to former teammate Charlie Adam.
Having been repeatedly linked with a move to Anfield over the years, Shaqiri finally arrived at what he described as the biggest stage in football in June for a reported fee of £13.5m.
The Switzerland international, who is still on holiday after his countrys World Cup campaign in Russia, immediately returned to the Premier League following Stokes relegation from the top flight last season.
Signing Shaqiri, Stokes one-time record signing after his arrival from Inter Milan in 2015, has been seen as a smart piece of business by most.
But Adam has now singled him out as one of the group of players who were getting away with murder during the Potters doomed 2017-18 season.
