Tottenham are without a number of first-team stars as they bid to maintain their promising form against bottom-placed Crystal Palace today.

Spurs suffered their second league defeat at Manchester United last weekend but bounced back with a memorable victory over Champions League holders Real Madrid during the week.

After ten matches of the 2017-18 Premier League campaign, Tottenham sit third in the table, eight points behind leaders Manchester City who face Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

But Mauricio Pochettino will be without a number of his star players against Palace as Hugo Lloris and Dele Alli have joined the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Érik Lamela on the injury-list.

England international Alli, who scored a brace against Real on Wednesday, is out with a hamstring problem while goalkeeper Lloris is believed to be struggling with a muscle strain.

Second-choice stopper Michel Vorm has also been ruled out with a knee injury meaning Paulo Gazzaniga will make his league debut for Spurs against the Eagles.

Wilfried Zaha, who has made an impact for Palace since his return from injury, starts for Roy Hodgson’s side.

‘For us it’s so important to reduce the gap,’ Pochettino said ahead of the clash. ‘The game against Manchester United was very painful – to lose the way we lost.

‘Now, after that victory against Real Madrid, it’s to be focused on the game against Crystal Palace. It has the same value as the Real Madrid game.’
