Paris Saint-Germain misfit Thomas Meunier has claimed he turned down the chance to join Chelsea on transfer deadline day.
Man City are on fire without Alexis Sanchez – but they should still sign him in January
Antonio Conte was on the hunt for a right-back during the summer transfer window and landed Davide Zappacosta from Torino in the final hours – but it appears the Blues’ first-choice may have been ‘frustrated’ PSG defender Meunier.
Meunier, 26, had dropped down the pecking order at the Parc des Princes, following the arrival of Dani Alves, and it’s reported Manchester United are also expressing an interest in the Belgian.
Speaking to Eleven Sports, though, the full-back revealed: ‘I could have joined Chelsea in the final day of the transfer window, but I didn’t want to.’

It’s understood United are eyeing a £30million move for Meunier and the unsettled PSG man admitted earlier this year that he dreams of joining the Red Devils.
‘On the other side of the Channel, there are the stadiums, the fans,’ he stated back in February.
